Continue 6-Balloon Black Bamboo Box

I decided to redo my project 3C.. Because I know that I do not meet the requirements of the studiomasters. From the presentation on 13 August, Friday, We have been given some comment on our 6-balloon black bamboo box. Our project is not practical because can't released together with balloon. Box must be light and simple. Balloon can be released one by one.

material I used included light paper, bamboo sticks and black plastic paper.

We form a group of 6 which include my friends You Sheng, Yee Lin, Siew Be, Ming Sing and Eng Sing. We need to show how the countdown may be executed at there.

We took bus at the evening on the same day to the Penang Times Square. That day, we face the bad weather which the sky is cloudiness and afterward rain. but we still intend to wait for the rain stop and continue carry out our study on site.

6-Balloon Black Bamboo Box

After imagine our black box then now we need to make it real. However, we are not going to make the box that we drew last week. We must use bamboo and recycled paper to produce a box with size that can fill in 6 standard sized helium-filled balloon.

After get this assignment, I quite shock because I can't imagine how big the box must be to fill in all the balloon. And no part of balloon must exposed. I don't know how to carry such a big box up to bus.

Finally, I have an idea to do a box which can fold into small size.

My Black Box

Friday, our studiomaster have been discuss about the black box. One of the idea is to use the black box when in critical condition like the coming natural disaster. We are going to put something important inside our black box to save our life.

However, my black box is not mainly for this but also other purpose. I am going to design my black box to have many small and big boxes. Since I am easily to lost small things or forget where the place I put it, I decided to have this kind of design. Different size of box enable me to place different size of thing.

Some of my other sketches.

Casket4Me

On the same day, Monday, we have been received a new title which is 'Casket4Me'. We need to design a casket for ourself and our sarong. There are some requirements : we need to show we are to be placed in it and how the casket is to be carried by six friends.

I use the method that I learn before which is scale to sketch out the people. I decided to make a casket which the cover can turn so that it can become roof like top to protect my friend from sun or even rain.

The finished drawing and colouring.

Grid, Scale and Cubes

Monday, after talk on topic 'Human Dimensions', we have been taught about the jengkal, the smallest unit of measurement. We need to use this method to sketch out two exercises on A3 papers.

First is our body dimension which is in ratio 1:10, 1:50, and 1:100.

Second is to draw a cube. Then fill an A3 page with cubes which can show the opacity, translucency, transparency, layers, shade and shadow.

The 101 Mask

On 26th July, Monday, we are not surprising to get another new work which is to produce 2 papier mache masks. This time is a bit different that we no need to use A2 board. 1 papier mache mask is your own full face with color and another is face with emotion but in black and white.

Since my roommate and I do not have any material, we went shop near Sungai Dua to buy some paper clay, glu, water color and brushes. We started our work at night after class on Wednesday. We prepared our things needed like water and make paper into pieces.

We help each other to place the paper clay on own face and wait for it to dry.

After completing drying, we overlap pieces of papers on it to make it thicker.

The masks finished without coloring.

I started coloring my mask on next day.

At the end, the masks completed!!

In this assignment, I want to thanks much for my roommate who helps me a lot. I learn that work together is very important in achieving a good product.
